Enter The Bucket Method!!!! This is a graphical approach to solving "mixture" word problems that helps students organize their data in order to solve these problems.
DrSigma did not create "The Bucket Method" but the good doctor did revise it to make it easier for students to use. Included in this packet is a graphical explanation of the process, a detailed walk-through of three separate examples, four worksheets -- each with four problems using the bucket organizer and an answer key with detailed solutions showing all work.

This resource was very engaging and useful for my students.
My students loved the bucket method. It really helped them visualize the mixture problems. It gave them another tool in their toolbox for solving these types of problems. I walked through 3 of the problems during class to ensure the students understood and then had them complete the rest as homework.
