Description

This sort gives learners the opportunity to model (using pictorial representations) practical problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with integers!

In short, students will be given 24 cards out of which they need to make six matches. A “match” consists of one word problem and its corresponding model, expression, and answer (4 cards total). Once they have found all their matches, learners will glue them down on the template provided and write the units of each answer on the “answer” cards. When students finish, there is space for them to create 2 problems of their own!

This resource contains 24 cards for students to match, a template for students to paste their matches onto, directions, and an answer key!

Please see the preview to determine if this activity is at the appropriate level of rigor for your students!

I should have looked closer at the models. They do not match what we need to show. Great concept tho!

LOVE to use this resource in stations after I've taught modeling! My students also like the fact that its matching, cutting, and pasting. I also like the fact that there are blanks for students to create their own problems and models.
