Description
This resource includes 219 task cards, organized into 3 levels so that you can use them throughout the year as your students learn and grow. Using these task cards, students will practice reading and solving multi-step word problems, one of the most difficult problem-solving skills to master.
- LEVEL 1: Addition and Subtraction
- LEVEL 2: Addition, Subtraction, and Multiplication
- LEVEL 3: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division
My third graders typically begin the year by reviewing addition and subtraction, so at that point we will begin to use the level 1 task cards. As I introduce my students to multiplication, we will mix in the level 2 cards, and so on. Throughout the year, you can easily grab the card set that you need to differentiate for your students.
These task cards are carefully crafted to include a balanced variety of: mathematical operations (e.g., subtraction with and without regrouping, a range of factors in multiplication problems), diverse names and family situations, and word problem contexts for students to connect with.
This resource includes two printing options: colorful watercolor or black and white. The black and white option is perfect for printing on colored paper to match your storage containers for easy organization! With both printing options, each level set features a slightly different background pattern and a cover card to help you differentiate between levels. Every card is also labeled with the level and card number to help in navigating the answer key.
