Description

A set of 20-30 worksheets and a quiz on basic multiplication facts from 0-10, designed for third grade level.

This is a multi-version pack, with A and B versions for your convenience: the A version has 30 worksheets before the quiz and has a slower progression through the concepts, while the B version has only 20 worksheets before the quiz and advances at a more rapid pace. You'll find pdfs of both versions in the zip file, along with a third pdf explaining the letter variations in more detail.

Can be used in tutoring or as a resource with specific students who need more focused practice on the concept. May be used to quickly review concept or help student re-learn it. I recommend using different pages on different days so the student has to move information in and out of memory more.

I created this to use with my tutoring students; if they're struggling with multiplication facts, this set of worksheets gives them the strategies they need--along with a good deal of practice. The facts are introduced in a logical (not numerical) order; first the easy facts (2, 5, 10), then the facts involving adding or subtracting one group from known facts (3 and 9), then the doubling facts (4, 6, 8). A reminder to use known facts to find unknown ones (such as 7x7) finishes the set. Focused practice on each new set of facts gives the chance to practice newly learned strategies, and review of all learned facts up to that point keeps previously learned strategies from being lost.

NOTE: The only difference between this set of worksheets and the Multiplication Facts for 4th grade is that these worksheets do not introduce 11s or 12s at all, whereas the 4th grade set teaches 11s and 12s all throughout. Choose the set you want by whether you plan on introducing 11s and 12s to your students, or whether you want to teach only through 10s.

Determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication or division equation relating three whole numbers. For example, determine the unknown number that makes the equation true in each of the equations 8 × ? = 48, 5 = __ ÷ 3, 6 × 6 = ?.
Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
