I've tutored kindergarten through high school students. I have taught math to EFL students in Central America. I have also taught basic ASL and piano lessons to elementary students. I've been creating math and other materials for several years now and using them with my own students; they have been tested and proven useful!
I prefer to individualize the curriculum to the child whenever possible.
I have only taught in small private schools where honors and awards are not part of the teaching experience. I'm more concerned that my students go on to experience success both academically and in the rest of life, than any award I could be given by other adults.
B.S. in Elementary Education, with minors in Mathematics and Spanish
I've visited 40 states, two Canadian provinces, and five Latin American countries! I speak Spanish and a little ASL, and play piano, recorder, some violin, and whatever dulcimer I can get my hands on to try out! I still have a not-so-hidden fondness for children's story books (over 1500 of them on my bookshelves at home!), and love discovering a good computer game that's educational. I run Linux, and love abandonware as well as open source software.
