Want an easy way to encourage students to practice and learn their math facts without devoting tons of class time to it every day? Teachers know how important knowing math facts and quick recall is to improving further math skills; this system has worked for me for many years!
Daily, I give students a 1 minute multiplication factor test. I call out factors to fill in on their mini-sheets, I start this fun count-down timer as they tackle the test, and then we correct quickly (aloud, calling out the products,) all-in-all devoting less than 5 minutes of class time to the process.
I have included everything you need to help encourage your students to learn products from 1x1 to 10x10 (or even 12x12 if you choose!) and test them quickly on that knowledge.
When students have successfully completed a mini-test on a factor 3 times with no mistakes, have them color in a candy piece on the progress chart. You can choose how (and if) to reward students on all their hard work.
