Description
I love teaching math (and writing), and I know that my students get more engaged in assignments and activities when they are hands on. This foldable was created for student notebooks so that they have a reference for strategies to multiply whole numbers. There are strategies for multiplying 4-digit by 1-digit numbers as well as 2-digit by 2-digit numbers. A section for estimation to check the reasonableness of an answer is included as well. Strategies included are partial products, distributive property, repeated addition, old school method (traditional algorithm), and lattice method.
In the classroom, I used this activity as a review at the end of the multiplication chapters, but I can also see using it as a test prep review of place value closer to the STAAR testing.Whenever you use this, your students are sure to have a great time and learn something new!
