Description

These 52 Engaging Math Task Cards enable students to transfer their math skills from the concrete to the abstract.

. . . . They are highly conceptual and contain 52 math questions in ALL!! (Multiple Choice, Multiple Select, Unknown Answer, Short Answer, Fill in the blank).

. . . . Enough questions and question types to provide purposeful differentiation for all levels of learning

Math Task Cards aligned to Common Core Math Standards:

4.OA.1 - Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison, e.g., interpret 35 = 5 × 7 as a statement that 35 is 5 times as many as 7 and 7 times as many as 5. Represent verbal statements of multiplicative comparisons as multiplication equations.

4.OA.2 - Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem, distinguishing multiplicative comparison from additive comparison.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Students will be able to choose a comparison statement that represents a given multiplication equation.
  2. Students will be able to choose a multiplication equation that represents a verbal statement of multiplicative comparison.
  3. Students will be able to interpret multiplication equations as comparisons.
  4. Students will be able to represent a verbal statement of multiplicative comparison as a multiplication equation.
  5. Students will be able to multiply or divide to solve contextual problems involving multiplicative comparison.

Thanks for the great feedback! I've been busy this year creating similar task cards for each standard. Looking forward to building conceptual task cards, digital task cards, and boom cards that help students visualize their thinking.
