How I use Boom Cards in my classroom:

As a special education teacher, Boom Cards are perfect for data collection and differentiation. I assign decks to students after teaching a skill for independent practice and formative assessment. Once my students have finished the deck, I review the report that Boom Learning generates (because Boom Cards are self-grading!) to determine who is ready to move on to another skill and who needs further intervention. When it is time to submit paperwork for IEPs, I have printable reports at my finger tips to demonstrate student progress and growth!

Why my students love Boom Cards:

There are cheers in my classroom when I tell students that they will be working on Boom Cards. They love the little ding that occurs when they solved a problem correctly. When a test is approaching, they have many practice problems that they can access from home by logging into their Boom account.

Note:

To use Boom Cards, you must be connected to the Internet. Boom Cards play on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge). Apps are available for modern Android, iPads, iPhones, and Kindle Fires. For security and privacy, adults must have a Boom Learning account to use and assign Boom Cards. You will be able to assign the Boom Cards you are buying with "Fast Pins," (a form of play that gives instant feedback to students for self-grading Boom Cards). For assignment options that report student progress back to you, you will need to purchase a subscription. If you are new to Boom Learning, you will be offered a free trial. Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison, e.g., interpret 35 = 5 × 7 as a statement that 35 is 5 times as many as 7 and 7 times as many as 5. Represent verbal statements of multiplicative comparisons as multiplication equations.
Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem, distinguishing multiplicative comparison from additive comparison.
