Description

The Phenomenal Fearless Fractions Project is here!

This outstanding project for upper elementary and middle school students is a great way to allow students to show off their skills with multiplying and dividing fractions, while also allowing them to incorporate visual design and artwork. Students will be tasked with finding the area of a bulletin board in your classroom or school, and then determining the appropriate sized posters to create to fill the space. Students will need a basic understanding of calculating area of rectangles in order to tackle this problem.

This project can easily be modified to use decimals rather than fractions, or the fractions can be removed altogether to make the project focus solely on area for younger students (3rd or 4th graders).

Phenomenal Fearless Fractions also serves as a wonderful alternative assessment in lieu of a test or quiz.
