This is a ten question quiz that I use with my students to assess their ability to find the area of parallelograms and area of triangles. There are four direct computation questions and one word problem each for parallelograms and triangles.
A slightly modified version is included. This version includes the area formula for each shape at the top of the section. There is also an answer key and rubric for the teacher.

This delicious set of problems requires students to divide whole bags of flour into fractions for each batch of cookies that the main character, Jenna, has to bake. Students will need to draw diagrams to represent the total amount of flour and then divide bags evenly to discover how dividing with fractions can produce results that are much more like their ideas of multiplication!
A teacher's answer key is included for your convenience.

The Phenomenal Fearless Fractions Project is here!
This outstanding project for upper elementary and middle school students is a great way to allow students to show off their skills with multiplying and dividing fractions, while also allowing them to incorporate visual design and artwork. Students will be tasked with finding the area of a bulletin board in your classroom or school, and then determining the appropriate sized posters to create to fill the space. Students will need a basic under
In this activity, students will use their knowledge of the Earth’s interior and mathematical ratios to create a scale model of the Earth’s layers. They will work in teams to mold clay into a pie-sliced replica of the inside of our planet. This activity includes student directions, guided lab sheets, and a reflection portion to help students summarize their learning. A fun way to show what you know about our planet!
This lesson and activity packet contains everything you need to help your students master median, mode and range. Through real-world practice, your students will investigate each concept and apply their learning. This activity includes interactive SMARTBoard slides, vocabulary handouts, guided note-takers, and class and homework options. Dive in to this fun investigation of important math concepts.

This video is a great tool for preteaching, reteaching, as a supplement for one-on-one tutoring, or (my favorite) as the video component of a flipped classroom! Students will be given an introduction to the topic before being shown in-depth examples of how to find the vertex and axis of symmetry of quadratic functions. Students will then have the opportunity to solve problems on their own before continuing to a step-by-step solution to allow them to check their work.
