My students struggled with understanding the rules of exponents. I loved the task card resource that allowed me to have my students work in small groups together on these problems. It was helpful as they were able to complete the problems together and have them understand the laws of exponents. Very helpful!

I use these in the class for review. I laminated each card individually. I write the answers to the previous number on the next question card. Then I tape them on one side (top) and secure to each desk. Students work out the first one at their desk. When the desk next to them is open, student will move to the next sequential card, flip it up and check their answer from the previous card. They then put the card back onto the desk with the next question on top. Answer that question, then move to the next card. Flip up the card to check the answer from the previous question, then flip the card back and work on the next question. This is done as a whole class activity. It was nice to have these already made and very colorful. LIke the presentation. Would like to have a few more that represented exponent of zero in the mix. Over all a very well thought out task cards.

An overall good set of task cards for practicing multiplying and dividing exponents. Did find a mistake on card #5. Instead of having 15 squared, the number is 152. Just a typo but still caused mass confusion until I was able to fix it. Mistake is on both the colored and black/white version. Card #17 and #19 were too advanced for the group I was using it with. We had learned the distributive property just not combining it with exponents yet. Made those extra credit and it worked out. Plan to use again.
