Description
Very easy quick review for Newton's Laws. I used this for end of year review and then had students complete some practice questions afterwards. A simple color by number Newton's Laws sheet pairs great with this if you have one.mm This takes about 30 minutes but can be extended to a full class if you have students take notes first.
There are links to videos of the demos in the notes of the ppt if it's unclear what's needed. Feel free to edit this file for own use.
Instructions: Prepare kit boxes (listed items below)
Optional-print packet of powerpoint (I did this but no one used it, they were happy to look at the front smartboard with me)
Each challenge is timed (timing listed on powerpoint)
When the timer ends, have teams answer Law 1, Law 2 or Law 3 on their team whiteboard.
Give students supply kits at the start of the activity:
2 balloons
1 whiteboard and marker
String or yarn
Large plastic cup (16 oz)
Pie tin or table surface with some newspaper would be ok, or a tray
Paper plate
Playing card OR index card
10 pennies
Straw
Balls (large and small, or marbles of different size)
Painters tape or masking tape
EGGS (I got 2 dozen to last for 6 classes)
Cardboard tubes like toilet paper tubes
Clothespin (optional but useful, could use binder clips)
