Description
Contains everything you need for a complete lesson on how to graph radioactive decay data to determine (1) the half-life of an isotope and (2) the amount of a sample of its activity after a given amount of time. The problems work well with all physics, chemistry and physical science curricula. These notes, worksheets and presentations are designed to be used with all of our radioactivity and nuclear physics resources.

(1) Two pages of guided notes for introducing this topic. The guided notes are designed to be used with the presentations.
(2) Three worksheets for your students to practice graphing decay data and interpreting the results.

One of the worksheets includes a Radon Fact sheet that can be used as a close reading assignment. Students will read the fact sheet and answer questions to learn about the occurrence of radon-222 in our environment, why it can be a health hazard, its negative effect on the human body and how its presence can be mitigated.
