Number Patterns

Description

Students practice creating increasing and decreasing number patterns on the hundred or two-hundred charts. Start from the top for increasing patterns, start from the bottom for the decreasing patterns. I have my students choose one of each and write about them on the back to show their thinking (e.g., my pattern is increasing by 2's, it skips one number each time, the ones place in each number is always even, the tens place can be odd or even, etc.). Note, the size of this paper is 11x17.
