Description
Do you need a fun way for students to practice operations with complex numbers with minimal prep? The Operations with Complex Numbers Scavenger Hunt Game gets students up and moving around while practicing math. In this game, students use the answer to one problem to find another problem hanging around the classroom. Students will complete a total of 12 problems to create a list of mathematicians. You can even extend this activity by having students research one of the mathematicians in the scavenger hunt. This product is self-checking and allows a teacher to work one-on-one with students while the rest of the class is engaged in the scavenger hunt. My students love seeing scavenger hunts on the agenda. This product comes with the student worksheet, scavenger hunt problems, instructions, and teacher’s key. You can find a free video showing how I introduce a scavenger hunt to my students. Feel free to use this video in your classroom or use it to prepare your lesson.
The problems included in the scavenger hunt require students to:
•Add two complex numbers
•Subtract two complex numbers
•Multiply two complex numbers
•Square a complex number
This product is also included in the Algebra 2 Scavenger Hunt Bundle.

This was a great review to keep the students engaged in leaning.
Love this activity and how it incorporates mathematicians! However, and I know I read the description when I purchased, I wish there was division of complex numbers too. Otherwise awesome awesome awesome!
Awesome review for my students when I was absent
I loved how this scavenger hunt used mathematicians. It sparked some interesting conversations about who the people were and why they are significant in mathematics, plus students got lots of practice with complex numbers!
So fun to complete!!
A fantastic activity!!!!
My students really enjoyed this resource as a review before their quiz on operations with complex numbers.
Great activity to get the kids moving around the room!
