Description

Teaching about how the moon orbits the Earth or the Earth orbits the Sun?

Student learn about rotation and revolution. Then, a fun teacher demonstration with a Koosh™ ball and string shows students how planets near the Sun have a faster orbital speed compared to planets far from our Sun. They definitely pay attention while they are watching this one!

Kids love to watch this demonstration!

What's included?

  • A PowerPoint™ presentation* makes it easy to introduce the orbits of the planets in our solar system including Eris and Pluto. All the images in the presentation are copyright free so you can use them any way you like!

  • A brief teacher background gives you an overview of how forward motion and gravity affect an orbit.

  • A student text about orbits. Choose from three reading levels in English AND two in Spanish. Do your students struggle with reading? All have been recorded for students who benefit from hearing the text. Choose color images if you have the option of printing in color or blackline images for students to color.

  • FOUR different assessments: quick, pencil-and-paper, for a struggling student, and for a capable student.

  • The worksheet included in English and Spanish and the assessments included in English and Spanish have all been saved as Word™ files so you can easily modify them for your students.
