Description

This interactive lesson can be used as an introduction or a review of the essential components of a unified paragraph. Some examples of the three components are included in think, pair, share format for cooperative learning in the classroom. This is the beginning of a series of lessons on writing paragraphs. A handout will be provided to accompany this PowerPoint within my store that includes exercises for the purpose of practicing writing topic and concluding sentences as well as developing ideas for continuity which helps sentences flow together and ties one idea to another. As a teacher I noticed that many of my students had no idea how to do this, even at the high school level. This was one of the reasons that they could not score high on standardized testing.
