This 20-page download includes pre-assessments to gauge current writing skill and knowledge of common writing vocabulary, as well as a vocabulary handout with definitions, and several practice worksheets. Students will identify and sequence the following steps:
1) decoding the prompt,
2) using prewriting activities to generate ideas,
3) creating a draft with organized ideas and supporting details,
4) revising writing for clarity and fluency,
5) editing writing for accuracy, and
6) publishing writing that is attractive and easy-to-read.
