Students should work in pairs to fill out this checkerboard. They will need to identify some of their commonalities as well as their differences.

I do this activity with my 7th and 8th graders throughout the year, and you could tweak it to best fit your own grade level. This product includes a blank template of the activity, as well as a completed one (shown in the product preview) to give students an example.
