Pascals Christmas Tree Math Pattern Activity
Share

Description

This activity requires students to create their own unique holiday version of Pascal's Triangle. Lots of arithmetic is required to get the triangle/tree completed, but the real fun comes while coloring the tree. Specific instructions are given for how to color the tree in such a way to see beautiful mathematical patterns emerge. The instructions are even differentiated based on the ability of the students, with one method being easier and the other more advanced. Either method will yield fascinating, beautiful results. This product reinforces addition, division, and other skills, and reinforces Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practices such as attending to precision and using math tools appropriately.
