Description

This pi mobile is fun for students of all ages to build on Pi Day. It introduces students to the number pi, the concept of irrational numbers, and to Albert Einstein whose birthday is 3/14! Students can color all parts of the mobile while learning facts about pi.

There are building directions included on the first page of the file. Three shapes, each 2-sided (all sides are different) hang from a circular top. I used embroidery thread to make my mobile but any thread would work.

Requires: hole punch, tape, glue and/or stapler, thread.

See all holiday math activities.

We did a unit on pi and circles, and this was a great hands-on activity. I hung the mobiles from the classroom ceiling. The kids enjoyed seeing each other's colored products being displayed.
