Description
This is a departure from the usual inverted V or mountain graphic organizer to teach plot analysis for a novel or story. This foldable teaches and organizes both the definitions for plot analysis (plot, introduction, conflict, internal and external conflicts, complications, climax, and resolution) and how each term relates to the current novel's plot. The foldable is discussed and completed as a whole class during the course of the whole novel study. Students will be able to quiz themselves on the definitions because only the vocabulary word is visible when the foldable is closed. Only upon lifting a tab does one see the definition. To the left of each vocabulary word students will write how that word relates to the novel. A complete foldable is shown with vocabulary words (as referenced above), definitions, and an example of how to relate each word to a novel. Complete instructions are included to show you how to assemble the foldable, the placement of each plot analysis vocabulary word, the place of the definition, the actual definitions, and the placement of the extrapolated portion from a novel. It later provides a great tool for a study guide. It's neat, organized, colorful, and visually shows the order in which a story unfolds. It affords the teacher several mini-lessons.
