Description
The basic difference between the poster and other advertising media is that the poster speaks to the audience on the move. Newspaper and magazine ads and mailing pieces such as folders, brochures, and booklets are designed for readers who have time to sit and read for a while. On the other hand, the poster must capture the attention and get the message across in a matter of seconds. It must spark the reader to take the desired action through a brief message packed with punch or veiled in subtlety. Poster must be attractive,eell-organized, self-explanatory,careful linking of text and imagery, and appropriate to the audience at hand.

Good Resource! Useful and engaging for students. Thank you!
Its hard to find good poster making lessons! Thanks for making it easier!
You are welcome!
I'm extremely disappointed with the powerpoint presentation... this one is for a specific "poster contest" that the school is having. It does not EXPLAIN some of the slides, such as the "Rule of Thirds" It just shows a picture! I'm extremely disappointed that I paid $5 for something that is completely useless in my classroom. I will not purchase a thing from this seller again, and would like a refund.
Sorry the resource did not work for your group. You are correct that it is directed to a specific contest, the National Career Development Association annual poster/poem contest www.ncda.org, although the concepts of poster design transfer to any poster project. My students have won 1st at nationals for the last three years. You might check with the teacherspayteachers website host about the procedure for requesting your $5 back? The rule of thirds slide when in presentation mode divides the photo into a tic tac toe grid to show ideal placement of subject to create impact.
Great to have a power point to back up poster guidelines.
Thank you.
You're most welcome!
