Description

Probability practice is the focus of these engaging, easy-prep print and digital color by number activities.

  • Students solve 15 or 20 probability problems, find the solution on the coloring sheet and then color!

Check out the Preview and video demo above to see what's included and how the digital version works.

These probability problems require students to:

  • Decide if events are likely, as likely as not, or unlikely (two questions in each version)
  • Find the theoretical probabilities of events
  • Express probabilities as fractions
  • Express probability as a percent(one question in each version)
  • Find the number of possible outcomes in a sample space

In this easy-prep probability resource you get a PDF with:

1) Two Print versions

Version A:

  • Problem sheet with 20 probability questions
  • Coloring sheet

Version B:

  • Problem sheet with 15 questions (similar types of questions to Version A)
  • Coloring sheet (a little less detailed than Version A)

2) One Slides version (can be used with PowerPoint)

  • Same problems and mostly same coloring as Version B
  • Students type their answers in the answer boxes
  • Students use the ‘Fill color’ bucket to color the shapes
  • Questions are not editable (they are in the background) but the shapes and numbers in the pattern ARE movable.)
  • LINK to digital version is in PDF download

3) Keys

4) Two coloring pages with no numbers, for students to color their own way, for fun:-)

Fun and easy activity for independent practice with this. It is kind of a self-checker as well, when they get it wrong, the color pattern does not match. I always give my students the ability to circle a problem where the color did not match, and do the work to figure out how the other answer was right for full credit. Also an easy early finisher or sub plan activity.

This was exactly the right resource to use with my remedial grade 7 math group for our last unit. I used the 15 question one as a warm up and the 20 question one as their assessment. The students thought I was joking and thought it was going to be 'easy' but it was just challenging enough for them. Best way to keep them engaged in those last days of school!

Understand that the probability of a chance event is a number between 0 and 1 that expresses the likelihood of the event occurring. Larger numbers indicate greater likelihood. A probability near 0 indicates an unlikely event, a probability around 1/2 indicates an event that is neither unlikely nor likely, and a probability near 1 indicates a likely event.
Find probabilities of compound events using organized lists, tables, tree diagrams, and simulation.
Understand that, just as with simple events, the probability of a compound event is the fraction of outcomes in the sample space for which the compound event occurs.
