As educators we are always looking to find better ways to improve our students skills and scores. The set of activities presented in this booklet will ask each student to solve a given problem and provide an explanation for their thought process. Each problem can be assigned to a student in your class and they can present their solution as a class project grade, some form of timed activity, an activity at the beginning of class, or as a homework assignment to reinforce skills each student needs to master.
The activities will meet the common core standards for your students in number sense. Some standards met in this booklet include CCSS.4.NF.B.3c, CCSS.5NF.A.1, and CCSS.5NF.A.2.
All problems have an answer guide included. May your student’s skills and knowledge improve with each activity.
