Description
This resource contains a print and digital version of problem solving task cards. Students will read social scenarios and will identify the given problem. This resource could be used as a morning meeting activity for Social Emotional Learning (SEL). It also can be used in an affective/social skills class activity to support students in Special Education.
Ideas of how to use this resource:
- Display a task card and have students turn and talk with a partner about the answer. Continue the conversation by asking, "How could the student solve the problem? Make sure the solution is reasonable, appropriate, and safe."
- Have students work in partners to complete the task cards. When everyone is done, have a class discussion.
Problem solving is so important because it helps students avoid conflicts with others and it helps students learn to solve their own problems before losing control of emotions. This resource can lead to great conversations and critical thinking. I created this resource to fit a need in my own classroom and I hope it helps you too!
What's included in this resource?
- Printable version: 10 task cards, Recording sheet, and Answer Key (Color and Black & White versions)
- Digital version: 10 task cards
