Description
This activity's self-checking independent or partner practice supports students working through new material.
3 riddle versions are included - choose the one that best fits your students' needs or use them all!
Version A - Students will transform the function f(x)=x^2 and match the equations of transformed functions to verbal descriptions of the transformation and graphs of the transformed function.
Version B - Students will transform the function f(x)=x^2 and match the equations of transformed functions to verbal descriptions of the transformations.
Version C - Students will transform quadratic functions of the form y=a(x-c)^2+d and match the equations or graphs of the original and transformed functions to the verbal descriptions of the transformation.
The following transformation types are included in this activity:
- Vertical translations
- Horizontal translations
- Vertical stretch and compression
- Reflection about the x-axis
- Note: single and composite transformations are included
This activity is in PDF format.
