Description
Special Education Task Box: Subitize | Quantifying Sets of Objects 1-5
Quantification is the ability to identify sets of objects by automatic recognition. It is just one piece of teaching number sense in the early math years.
These quantifying task cards can be used to help students quickly identify sets and connect with the numeral. They are generic and can be used throughout the school year. These are great to laminate and put on a ring for transitions. Show students a card and have them say the answer and/or point to the number as the transition to do something during the school day like wash hands or line up. You can also use them as a work station or center. Students can clip or cover the correct answer.
What's Included?
- 1 task box cover
- 45 task cards
Sets to 5 for: dice, domino, paint dots, cheerios, dinosaurs, fish, cookies, flowers, and balloons
Teacher Tips for Use:
- Morning Meetings: Use as a quick "flash" activity to build subitizing speed.
- Transition Tool: Keep a set on a ring by the door to use while lining up for recess, playground, bathroom, or lunch.
- Independent Work: Add to a task box / work system for non-verbal assessment of number recognition.
Printing
The task cards print in color only and 2 to a page. Laminate the cards for durability.
