Are you teaching your students reading comprehension strategies? Use these 53 interactive notebook templates and 20 task cards to document 20 reading comprehension strategies.

The interactive notebook templates feature a definition or an explanation of the strategy and is accompanied by assembly instructions. Photographs of completed templates included. The 20 task cards also have an explanation of the strategy and 2-3 tasks that require the application of that strategy.

Each reading task card has the option of a QR Code. Students will be able to use their I-pads/tablets to see a video explaining the strategy in focus prior to attempting the task card activity. You will need a QR Code Reader to access this feature. Links to the videos are also included in the download.

Suggested Use

Focus on one reading strategy at a time. Use the reading task card as a follow-up activity. Have students record their responses in their journals or the provided interactive notebook templates. Some notebook templates have 2-3 options. Choose one that best suits your students’ needs. Students can also access the video via the QR Code Card (on each task card) as a review prior to attempting the reading activity.

Please note that the QR Code links provide access to YouTube videos and you may need to seek permission from your IT department to gain access. You will need a QR Code Reader to access this feature. Links are also included in the download.
