Description
Broadway musicals are often a favorite amongst students! It's always good fun to watch one in class, but why not take it a step further and have your students create their own musicals with pop songs?!
This bundle includes the following:
1) A presentation that breaks down different parts of a musical script. This includes important terminology found in scripts, such as stage locations, parts of a script and more!
2) Guided notes for students to fill out during the script presentation. Students will fill in blanks and complete short assignments that are linked to the presentation listed above.
3) An exit ticket assessment/quiz with information from this presentation.
3) Creating a Musical Project
In this project, students will be writing their own scripts! The project includes detailed directions, grading rubrics, project checklist and an example project.
Students will write a script, using concepts from the presentation (stage directions, stage locations, etc.), use pop songs to convey a plot, and design their very own playbill cover!
The project can be modified to change the length of the final project. My preferred guidelines are listed in the directions, but can be changed to suit your timeline. (ex. 15 lines of dialogue can be changed to 30.)
Please reach out if you have any questions! Enjoy!!
