Have you ever noticed how much trash is thrown away daily? Tons of paper, cans, plastics and aluminum are thrown away each month. If everyone would simply recycle, imagine how much cleaner our world could be.
There are many different ways to show children how important recycling is to our planet. In my opinion, the best way is to introduce the lesson with a hands-on activity that will allow them to understand the importance of recycling.
Most students understand the solar system by the time they reach the 5th grade, and in my experience, love learning about space. The following experiment/activity allows students to comprehend why recycling is so important to preserve our planet Earth.
