Use the coloring tool of your choice. I recommend that students use crayons or coloring pencils. Students will only need a basic set of 12.

NOTE ON TIME: Color-by-code puzzles can take a good amount of time, especially if students are practicing the skill with pencil/paper. Give your kids plenty of time to complete this. You might use this puzzle as a project of the week, homework, or even a collaborative activity with a partner. You also might assign just a few of the problems as Morning Work each day for a week. This makes a great display and is a good piece to include in a math portfolio.
