Description
Help students learn and understand the steps of rounding whole numbers with these fill-in-the-blank notes! Students will work with you to fill in the blanks for key words in the steps of rounding whole numbers. Students will go step-by-step through the steps of rounding whole numbers and then complete two examples (round to the nearest tens place and round to the nearest hundreds place). With these notes, students are underlining the place value they are rounding to, circling the place value to the right, seeing if the circled number is 4 or less (let it rest) or 5 or more (add one more), rounding their number, then adding zeros to the place values following the underlined number. This resource is perfect to keep in math notebooks to refer to throughout the year or to use as a refresher activity before beginning rounding of decimals!
