Description

Make Scientific Notation practice FUN and ENGAGING with this creative Math Mugshot activity! This 8th grade activity gives students practice converting from scientific notation to standard form and solving problems using all four operations.

No prep. Just print and go! This activity will keep your students engaged, focused, and smiling while they reinforce important math skills.

Students solve the problems and use their answers to determine the physical features of a mystery character. As they match each answer to the correct feature, they draw the character on the "mugshot" template. If students solve the problems correctly, their final drawings will match the completed character so grading is a breeze!

The problems were great and the kids liked the art aspect. Multiple students brought up the assignment being racist and I told them any shade of brown for their skin tone. I would actually white that out for next year and change it.
