This is a problem solving activity for the primary classroom. It was created for a first grade classroom as a daily piece to reinforce the concept of composing numbers. Many classrooms have a "daily number" as part of their calendar routine, and this is a tool to use during that time. The Random Number Generator tool is used to generate a number between 5 and 15. Students can then use the pen tool to come up and record the different ways they came up with to compose the target number. The parameters of the Random Number Generator can be edited to work with smaller or larger numbers.
