Description
This is a course plan for an SNC2D class (grade 10 academic science, Ontario), although it could be modified to work for an applied level course as well, as much of the curriculum is similar. The units are all individual and could be taught in any order. Some of this material is likely applicable to other grade levels in areas outside of Ontario, which is why I have selected more than just grade 10.
The units include:
- Chemistry (chemicals, their properties, their reactions and acids/bases).
- Biology (tissues, organs and systems of living things - cell division, body systems, plants, etc.)
- Physics (light and optics - reflection, refraction, lenses, mirrors)
Climate change (Earth's climate system, natural change, unnatural change, impacts of humans and how we can help).
There are no resources included, it is just a breakdown of what is being taught each day of the course and what types of activities are being completed. It includes some links to Kahoots and other online resources that I used, although these things are free and not part of the price. The price is simply for the work I did to plan everything out.
Each lesson was designed for a 75 minute period, however, they are also grouped into pairs (colour-coded) so that the plans work for the 150 minute periods that many schools are using for COVID-19 learning.
The textbook that is referenced is the grade 10 Science Perspectives book by Nelson.
