Description

This math STEM project gives students the opportunity to use the Engineering Design Process and their elapsed time skills! It is a highly engaging activity where the children plan a trip to a carnival. They will also create a 3D model of a carnival attraction. This math learning opportunity is teacher friendly because it includes rubrics, parent letters, and a printable student journal to meet your needs. My students love this extension because they use their measurement knowledge to create real world outing!

This product includes:

  • Teacher Directions Printable
  • Rubrics
  • Parent Letter
  • Suggested Questions to Ask Your Students
  • Suggested Audience Ideas
  • Printable Student Engineering Notebook
  • Table of Contents

The Practices of Science and Engineering in NGSS

1. Asking questions (for science) and defining problems (for engineering)

2. Developing and using models

3. Planning and carrying out investigations

4. Analyzing and interpreting data

5. Constructing explanations (for science) and designing solutions (for engineering)
