Description

These are scaffolded notes (Teacher & Student Versions) that are designed to guide student learning and note-taking during a lesson. They may be used to incorporate group work, individual exploration, and classroom discussion into a lesson. This particular set of notes uses the definition of Pi to help students discover the formula for circumference and area of a circle. It also uses Cavaleri's Principle to allow students to determine the volume for many common solids. The goal is for students to remember the principle behind the volume formulas so that they will be able to recreate them at any time, as opposed to committing them all to memory.
