Description

This science reader is a resource for providing students with a basic knowledge of owls. The text may be somewhat difficult for beginning readers, but it is simple enough that students should be able to partner read or independently read on subsequent readings. The content in this reader allows for discussion as students read/follow along with the teacher.

Includes

- 10 page reader (two copies per page)

- Simple discussion ideas

Easel Resouce

There is an Easel resource included with this purchase. There is a colored version of the reader. There is also a self-checking page for students to drag and label the parts of an owl.

Student Engagement

These readers work well with a small group. Students are engaged as they read with the group and then with a partner/independently. Having a group discussion about what students have learned helps to keep them engaged. They also enjoy coloring the books, taking them home, and reading them to family members.
