Description
This resource introduces, refreshes, or reviews the Scientific Method and Engineering Design Processes. Students think critically as they collaborate and communicate with each other. Modeling effective and healthy communication skills between peers is a must in a classroom.
You can use this activity as a Do Now (Ring Bell Starter) or after a Do Now as one of your main activities since it can take 10-20 minutes, depending on how in-depth you want to go.
Not a science or STEAM/STEM teacher?! If you still do STEAM activities with your students you can use it. Also, you can plan and conduct this as a cross-curricular activity with any of your peers.
Includes:
- Task Cards
- Detailed instructions and guided questions on how to conduct the activity/lesson.
- Time Management Suggestions
- Lesson Presentation to Display in Class (Google Slide)
- Student Worksheet Printable
- Student Worksheet - Two Easel Options
- Option 1 - Students can type in the steps of each process in order.
- Option 2 - Students can drag and drop the steps of each process on the correspondent space. (Excellent if you need to modify for students.)
- Google Slide link to add additional task cards to the Scientific Method section if you would like. Just add a text box over the task card and type.
