This is a very kid-friendly PowerPoint Presentation that explains the steps of the scientific method. Accompanying the presentation is a student-guided note sheet.The PowerPoint is color-coded so students only have to write down key words and phrases that are in a certain color, which is pink, and the rest of the template is filled out already. This style of note taking takes the pressure off students because they don't have to race and write down all the information. It also allows students the opportunity to be more actively involved in discussions and listen better.

Along with the notes and presentation is an inquiry-based warm-up activity is made up of a graphic organizer that encourages students to collaborate and discuss what they they think the order of the scientific method is before they learn the steps. There is a phrase bank to allow students to use inquiry skills and fill in the organizer first, then go back and fix their answers after the presentation/notes is over. I have included teacher directions that outline how to use the inquiry warm-up, note sheet, and presentation effectively. In addition to the warm-up there is also a practice worksheet after the warm-up and notes have been completed in order for students to apply and comprehend what they have learned.
