This package contains everything you need to teach your students about writing good scientific questions: interactive science notebook pages, a PowerPoint, two worksheets, a Boom Deck of digital task cards, and an assessment. Use these resources during your scientific method unit or before a science fair.

These are the objectives of the resources in this bundle:

  • Students will be able to identify good and bad scientific questions.
  • Students will be able to explain what makes a good scientific question.
  • Students will be able to create their own scientific questions.

These resources emphasize the need for scientific questions to have an independent variable, a dependent variable, and be measurable.

What's included:

  • Interactive Notebook Pages and PowerPoint: two interactive notebook pages that can be used with or without a fully editable PowerPoint with twenty-six slides (also comes with an uneditable PowerPoint in case of reformatting issues)
  • Boom Deck of Digital Task Cards: twenty-six digital task cards that can be used to practice, review, or assess students' understanding of what makes good and bad scientific questions
  • Worksheet: a two page worksheet that can be used in class and its answer key

The students tried to rush through this as it was not as engaging as I'd hoped, but overall it was a useful resource and helpful in identifying good and not great scientific questions.
