Description

This resource will give you interactive independent activities to foster critical thinking in your students during your math block!

These black and white printables are perfect to send to the copier or you can print on colored paper to create high interest in your student's journals

These math journal activities that will help you spiral through concepts that you have taught during your math block. These activities give your students the opportunity to apply their knowledge of key mathematical concepts.

This is best suited for second grade, but overlaps with concepts from 1st as well. It you have advanced first graders, this might be a good fit. (Be sure to check the preview file)

Concepts Covered:

odd and even

number sequence/number line

related facts

addition

combinations of 10

combinations of 20

missing addend to 20

ordering numbers

number patterns, 2s, 3s, 5s, 10s

graphing (creating)

graphing (analyzing)

critical thinking in math

Students can do these activities independently during math stations, or you can do this whole group in more of a teaching format. If your math block has teacher led small groups, some of these will make great small-group lessons for students that need more practice or more visuals with a concept.
