"This is such a helpful tool. I used it with my student with autism and a student with Down Syndrome. They need help noticing the modifications in sentences and this was the perfect tool for that. "

Description

22 full pages, 44 opportunities of captivating Picture stimuli targeting Sentence Comprehension - Modification. Products are made to target a child's deficits based on each Subtest of the CELF (Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals). Can be used as a Probe, for Treatment, or for Progress Monitoring. I use it for all three. Pair with any other craft, game, etc. to reinforce. The materials use High Contrast to highlight the meaning of Modification for children with language impairments; this is an evidence-based approach.

Teaches Sentence Comprehension of (noun) MODIFICATION. Stimuli targets Noun Modification with use of adjectives and/or add'l nouns.

There are other kinds of modifiers in English; however, the CELF addresses those in other Item Analysis tasks. Since these resources are based on the CELF, I only include these types of modifiers here. No worries though, I will be creating those resources as well!

Picture stimuli make it easy to incorporate or otherwise incidentally learn additional language skills (e.g., categories, pronouns, 3rd person singular, present progressive, multiple meaning).

The Digging SLP products are made to be thorough, complete, and comprehensive for the given skill.

I got tired of cherry-picking different skills on different weeks and struggled to keep things consistent, find multiple activities for a given skill, and to remember everything I was supposed to be working on. For that reason, I started to back track...looking at each child's Item Analysis breakdown on the CELF and creating materials to specifically target those deficits. Since doing so, I finally feel confident in knowing my students' needs, tracking their progress, and deciding what to do next.

The Digging SLP Process:

1) Assess (my items are based on the CELF-5)

2) Determine Specific Deficits (using CELF-5 Item Analysis)

3) Use Specific Intervention to address Specific Deficit ( The Digging SLP materials )

I'm currently working to create 10! tasks (because they aren't just 'activities') per ITEM ANALYSIS! Because don't we need at least 10 things we can fall back on for any given skill?!

I love this and all of your other sentence comprehension products! I purchased them all because I find that there is very minimal out there when it comes to anything related to this CELF subtest and I was spending so much time trying to create stuff. When I found this I felt like I hit the jackpot! thank you!
