My classes loved this resource! I spent a day teaching them simple and compound sentences. Then, I used this resource to review simple/compound sentences, and then expand to teach them complex and compound-complex. They loved the cookies, and I know they will truly remember this lesson! I also really like the writing assignment to assess learning rather than a quiz. It helps to show that these types of sentences makes a difference to their writing and teaches them why we learn grammar.

I honestly do not know how I would teach these difficult concepts without this resource. For the past few years, I've brought in actual cookies and frosting for the kids to build the different types of sentence structures during this lesson. I've even photographed their food and made instructional posters to hang in the room as visual reminders. Purchase this product; You won't regret it!
