Description

This CCSS aligned page focuses on solving simple equations (one-step equations using addition and subtraction, or multiplication or division).

This is one of the first lessons I teach in the year to help students review their learning from previous years, introduce the concept to others, and make sure we are on the same page going forward as this is one of the most critical building block skills! It is also the first lesson in a larger Simple Equations unit, which includes tests, quizzes, and student data tracking, that you can find in my store!

Zero prep for you! Simply print, handout, and follow along with the answer key! Back to distance learning? Students can print out at home, use a site to write on the PDF, or save them to a Google Slide to take notes!

  • Easy to follow along with instruction
  • Clear, student-friendly language for concepts
  • Labeled sections for easy reference and study
  • Promotes equal access to education through set-up
  • Keeps students organized
  • More time to focus on the math as students record only essential pieces of information

Favorite Features:

  • Utilizes dyslexia/struggling reader friendly font
  • Fill-in-the-Blanks offer great opportunity for discussion
  • LGBTQ+ and diverse family structure inclusive word problems
  • Rational and irrational numbers used in practice

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, suggestions, etc. please email me at the address below! (should you find any spelling, grammatical, or math errors, please please please kindly let me know)
