Description

Students will have to use what they know about simplifying algebraic expressions to solve 8 problems. Questions are differentiated and modeled after the New York State 7th Grade math exam. All questions use rational numbers only. Students will have to organize their answers on strips to help them get a code at the end of the assignment. This is an engaging activity that is great to use at the end of a unit for a class review or for students who need an extra challenge after finishing work early!

Please make sure that your students can do the following before purchasing this product:

  • Combining like terms
  • Applying the distributive property
  • Operations with rational numbers
  • Changing fractions to decimals
  • Finding the perimeter of shapes & ordering rational numbers from least to greatest (level 1 only)

What's Included:

Worksheets and answer key are included!

Please Note:

I was not able to open this resource because it was zipped and said it was too large to open. I would love for a PDF to be uploaded so it could be used. I tried asking for this but didn't get a response.

I used this as part of a choice board activity. The problems were a bit awkward to students so few actually chose this one.

Great resource! It took a little longer for students to complete than I had planned. Next time, I'll plan to use this activity for two days instead of one.
