Description

Take a paper snowflake someone else designed and try to reproduce it! Use the introductory activities to think critically about how a folded paper with holes will look after it is unfolded. Engineers often look at products that have already been designed to see how they work, how they might use aspects of that design, and how they might improve the design to make it their own. This is a slightly different skill than just creating out of your own imagination - you need to get inside the head of someone else!

I was glad to see the updates- my students definitely struggled with the initial version of this resource. I think third grade might be a bit too young for this, unless your students are incredibly precise with scissor skills, which mine were not.
