Description
A glyph conveys information in picture form. Invite students to express their thoughts about winter and snow with a snowman glyph. This resource includes a craft, survey, data sheet, and a writing prompt! Your students will love these fun interdisciplinary activities!
First students will complete the Snowman Glyph Survey and use their answers to choose the appropriate parts for their snowman.
Direct students to cut out the correct snowman pieces using their survey results as a guide. Once the snowmen are assembled, invite students to interpret the glyphs together. They can tally, count, and graph the results on their Data Sheets. Model how to create a bar graph so they can design their own using the class glyphs.
Included in this resource is a writing prompt for students to write a How-To essay on how to build a snowman.
All sheets are available in both color and black and white.
